From time to time the Tipi Raisers hosts events in Colorado and invites volunteers to join us for any of the following:
Providing a meal/s
Hosting or entertaining guests from Pine Ridge
Setting up prior to the event
Cleaning up after the event
Soliciting Needed Donations
If you are interested in helping but aren't local or simply wish to help from the comfort of your home, please consider helping us to acquire needed items.
Oftentimes, there are requests from Tribal members for specific items such as appliances, car parts, mattresses, etc. and would value your help in locating those items.
Or in anticipation of a cold winter/ hot summer, volunteers can reach out to vendors of space heaters/window air conditioners, etc. to obtain a large quantity of these items.
If you are interested in this, please reach out to Lori and she will talk you through current opportunities.
Driving
Most of the material donations come in from our network in Colorado and oftentimes there are more donations than one truckload can manage to take up to Pine Ridge. At these times we will put a call out for help with transporting the donations to Pine Ridge.
There are also times that we need drivers to transport our Gen7 youth from Pine Ridge to Colorado and will seek volunteers for these occasions.
If you wish to be contacted as a driver please reach out to Lori and she will put you on the list!
Volunteer Service Trips
Open Volunteer Service Trips on Pine Ridge are listed annually on the Tipi Raiser's calendar and individuals can join - as space allows. Race to Winterize trips are included in this structure.
