With the end of summer in sight, we are collecting essential school supplies to ensure that the children on the reservations we serve are fully prepared and confident for the new school year. Every child deserves the right tools to succeed in the classroom. All items donated will be delivered directly to students and families in time for the start of school.
COLLECTION DEADLINE: AUGUST 15TH
Writing
Pencils: Standard No. 2 wood-cased pencils, mechanical pencils, and replacement lead/erasers.
Pens: Ballpoint, gel, or felt-tip pens (usually in blue, black, and red for grading/editing).
Highlighters: Multi-colored packs for indexing and emphasizing notes.
Markers & Crayons: Washable markers (fine and broad tip), colored pencils, and classic wax crayons..
Erasers: Large pink block erasers and pencil-top cap erasers.
Pencil Sharpener: A compact, manual hand sharpener with a receptacle for shavings.
Paper, Notebooks & Organization
Notebooks: Spiral notebooks (single-subject or multi-subject) and composition notebooks (wide-ruled or college-ruled).
Binder Paper: Loose-leaf filler paper (wide or college-ruled) and graph paper for math.
Binders: 3-ring binders (ranging from 1-inch to 3-inch sizes) and clear plastic sheet protectors.
Dividers: Tabbed binder dividers to separate subjects.
Folders: 2-pocket folders (with or without center prongs) for organizing loose worksheets.
Index Cards: 3x5 inch ruled cards for flashcards and study notes, plus an index card box.
Sticky Notes: Post-it notes in various sizes for temporary reminders and bookmarking.
Desktop Supplies & Tools
Scissors: Blunt-tip safety scissors for younger kids; pointed, full-sized scissors for older students.
Adhesives: Washable glue sticks, liquid school glue, and clear Scotch tape.
Ruler: A standard 12-inch/30-cm shatterproof ruler.
Protractor & Compass: Essential tools for geometry classes.
Pencil Case/Pouch: A zippered pouch with grommets to fit inside a binder, or a hard plastic pencil box.
Everyday Gear & Personal Care
Backpack: A sturdy, backpack with adjustable padded straps.
Lunch Box / Bag: An insulated lunch container or reusable snack bags.
Water Bottle: A reusable, leak-proof, insulated water bottle.
Tissues & Wipes: Travel-sized packs of facial tissues and wet wipes or hand sanitizer.
Locker Accessories: Locker locks (combination or key), magnetic organizers, or mirrors (for middle/high schoolers).
DROPPING OFF SCHOOL SUPPLIES AT THE HUB
Collected items can be mailed to the address below or brought to our Lafayette Colorado Hub (9849 Isabelle Rd Lafayette, CO). Please leave the items at the donation drop site indicated by signage outside the gray Lab building, or inside the Lab if there are volunteers on site. See blue arrow in image below.
