At The Tipi Raisers, we engage youth and volunteers as we address conditions of poverty on Native reservations, amplify Indigenous wisdom and create unique opportunities for reconciliation in direct partnership with our Native relatives. We are a multi-cultural and intergenerational community in which an exchange of courageous conversations and mutual understanding are emphasized, inevitably leading to an organic evolution of friendship and respect across cultures and lines of difference.
Check out the impact in 2023 that our volunteers, supporters from around the world and Tribal partners had on the Native communities we serve!
Our efforts to alleviate conditions of poverty are in direct partnership with those we serve in Native communities. We are committed to centering their perspective and supporting their needs, while empowering youth and providing non-Native volunteers multiple opportunities to work and play alongside those we serve. Inevitably, courageous conversations emerge, leading to friendship, mutual understanding and an organic evolution of reconciliation.
We work from a model of reciprocity as informed by Indigenous wisdom.
This is why all Tipi Raiser's events, service trips and activities are offered free of charge. We trust that those who join us will receive the gift that is inherent in their experience and that they will give back to the best of their ability - in this way, we can all stay in balance.
"When a society loses the sacred - when everything has a monetary value, the commoditization of human life cannibalizes itself." - Basil Brave Heart
The generosity of our partners and supporters - through donations and grants - makes everything we do possible! We offer our sincere gratitude for any support you can offer. Connect with a Tipi Raiser's staff member to learn other ways to give back!
OUR MISSION: Through a variety of collaborative and multicultural projects, we strive to alleviate conditions of poverty, honor Indigenous wisdom, reconcile our shared history with the Peoples of the First Nations and empower youth with the leadership skills needed to affect social change in their communities.
